Up a Long Creek

For Comic Relief 2010 Dougie Vipond and Fred MacAuley took on the challenge of paddling the Caledonian Canal. A challenge in good weather, the duo along with guide Neil Baxter took on what was then an informal Canoe Trail in February. Facing sub zero temperatures and frozen canal sections the pair successfully completed the distance by boat and by boot to Inverness. Their physical and mental efforts certainly didn't go unnoticed as they raised lots of money for the charity.

Well done to Dougie & Fred (and Neil)!

Here are some of the short video clips and links to their photo galleries.

60 miles in 5 days

It is an epic 60 mile (95km) journey crossing Scotland in 5 days and conquering the formidable open waters of Loch Lochy and Loch Ness, a challenge in itself.

From South to North

It is normally easier to paddle the Trail from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east with the prevailing wind behind you.
