IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR GGCT PADDLERS 

From early January through to Mid March there will be restricted access underneath Aberchalder Swing Bridge. Transerv will be undertaking repairs requiring scaffoding works around and under the A82 road bridge and paddlers are asked not to pass under the works without permission from the works foreman.

The parking area besides the bridge will also be restricted due to works vehicles and materials.

Please check with Transerv or the Canal Office to find out suitable portage options.

It is an epic 60 mile (95km) journey crossing Scotland in 5 days and conquering the formidable open waters of Loch Lochy and Loch Ness, a challenge in itself.

From South to North

It is normally easier to paddle the Trail from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east with the prevailing wind behind you.
