Muirtown Basin hosts canal’s first canoe polo tournament

Tue 13 May 2014

40 paddlers took to the waters of Muirtown Basin in Inverness on Saturday 10th May, to hold Nairn Kayak Club's first canoe polo tournament. The club enjoyed clear weather and light winds, and set up their polo 'pitch' just outside Seaport Marina, meaning that neighbouring yachtsmen, local residents and passersby had a great view of the action. The club practice on the canal most Wednesday evenings and expect to hold a second tournament later in the year. To find out more about the sport, visit
