Works are still ongoing at Fort Augustus and this section of the canal is still closed to paddlers. We ask that paddlers make alternative arrangements until the canal is fully reopened. When the canoe pontoons have been reinstated we will advise further

From South to North

It is normally easier to paddle the Trail from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east with the prevailing wind behind you.
