Foyers Trailblazer Rest site under threat

Foyers Trailblazer Rest site under threat

Tue 11 Jul 2017

Scottish Canals has received a plea from the landowners who in 2012 kindly gave us permission to build the Trailblazer's Rest site, with composting toilet, on their lochside land at Foyers.  Although the majority of paddlers have used the site as it has been intended, there is now an increasing problem with some paddlers hopping the site's boundary fence and making unauthorised use of the neighbouring campsite's shower blocks. The campsite owners offer Trailblazer Rest site users a fantastic rate to use their campsite facilities if they ask at Reception, but if the unauthorised use continues, the future of the Trailblazer Rest site could be in jeopardy.  Please help us to halt the problem by encouraging fellow Trail uers to act responsibly.  Thank you!

60 miles in 5 days

It is an epic 60 mile (95km) journey crossing Scotland in 5 days and conquering the formidable open waters of Loch Lochy and Loch Ness, a challenge in itself.

From South to North

It is normally easier to paddle the Trail from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east with the prevailing wind behind you.
