Ice affecting large areas of the Caledonian Canal

Wed 21 Jan 2015

Large sections of the Caledonian Canal reaches are currently affected by ice as a result of the recent low temperatures. Towpaths are also icy, making them slippery for pedestrians and cyclists - users are advised to exercise caution. For safety, Scottish Canals would like to remind the public that walking on the frozen canal could endanger their lives and should never be attempted.
