Join the midsummer Clean Up

Thu 06 Jun 2013

To celebrate Scotland’s natural beauty in the year of Natural Scotland, the independent charity Keep Scotland Beautiful is running a co-ordinated Midsummer Clean Up across Scotland’s Great Trails. There will be clean-ups taking place on the nationally promoted trails between noon on 21st June and noon on 22nd June. This will be part of the year-long Clean Up Scotland campaign which aims to encourage people to take action and clear litter from the places they care about. Details of the trails can be found at www.scotlandsgreattrails.org.uk

The Great Glen Canoe Trail is unique as it is the only water route in the Scotland's Great Trails family.

Help us to keep the Great Glen clean and unspoiled by joining us in picking up and packing out any litter you find on the route between midday on 21st June and midday on 22nd June.

60 miles in 5 days

It is an epic 60 mile (95km) journey crossing Scotland in 5 days and conquering the formidable open waters of Loch Lochy and Loch Ness, a challenge in itself.

From South to North

It is normally easier to paddle the Trail from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east with the prevailing wind behind you.
