At Explore Highland, we offer a truly bespoke adventure holiday experience. Donald Macpherson, owner and lead guide worked as the Project Officer who set up Scotland’s first formal Canoe Trail with Scottish Canals and knows the trail inside out!

Our all-inclusive guided Canoe Trail adventure holidays, when not lead by Donald, are led by top local guides who also know the Caledonian Canal extremely well. Whilst ensuring your safety throughout your adventure, Explore Highland will help coach you through the Canoe Trail where necessary, support your learning experience with local information and entertain you with folk lore around the camp fire! We take great pride in ensuring your holiday is full of Highland hospitality.

As part of our all-inclusive guided adventures, we can supply all paddling equipment, camping equipment (except sleeping bags), all meals, guiding and transportation from Inverness to the start of the Canoe Trail at Banavie, Fort William. For the more adventurous, we can take along a hammock so you can sleep under the stars.

Throughout the year we run a number of planned, guided adventure holidays through the Great Glen which are advertised on our website diary page, however we are also able to offer bespoke guiding services for small or large groups looking for extra safety and security with a local competent guide present.
