Paddling Activity Providers

When planning to take on the Great Glen Canoe Trail you may require assistance from a local paddling activity provider. Paddling activity providers can offer you a variety of services along with local knowledge and can save you planning time, suggest accommodation and campsites, and even offer you options including camping, cooking and other essentials.

If you do not have your own boat(s) and need to hire a canoe or sea kayak, a paddling activity provider can arrange for you to be full outfitted for the adventure.

For those novice paddlers looking to be supported through the Trail, a guided trip by a local qualified guide may be of interest.

Paddlers who own their own boats, may wish to book a shuttle service to transport people and/or equipment/boats to the opposite side end of the Trail.

Planned guided trips by our listed providers are advertised in the 'What's on' section.

60 miles in 5 days

It is an epic 60 mile (95km) journey crossing Scotland in 5 days and conquering the formidable open waters of Loch Lochy and Loch Ness, a challenge in itself.

From South to North

It is normally easier to paddle the Trail from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the east with the prevailing wind behind you.
